International SOS Eligibility Questionnaire

Eligibility for Harvard University's International SOS membership depends on your Harvard affiliation and the reason for your travel. We've outlined the eligibility criteria in detail, provided FAQs, and created the questionnaire below to help you determine your eligibility on a per-trip basis. This includes course takers, certificate programs, and non-credit professional development courses and programs.
Harvard-sponsored travel is funded, paid, organized, or led by Harvard University, or involves academic work qualifying for credit.
This includes Harvard-related travel for research, study abroad, attendance at a conference, academic study, travel with a student organization or trek, or a summer or January internship (or similar volunteer or work experience) if registered at Harvard the following term. Harvard-related travel does not include personal travel or travel for primarily social purposes, even when traveling with a group consisting of Harvard affiliates.

Based on your answers, you're not eligible for Harvard's International SOS membership for emergency medical and security assistance and evacuation. You can, however, access the International SOS member portal to browse country guides and research your destination.

Alternative Options
As a Harvard affiliate, you can purchase a discounted individual or family International SOS membership for your personal trips. Visit the International SOS membership portal to learn more about the discount for Harvard affiliates' personal travel.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also maintains a list of private providers that offer travel medical insurance and evacuation coverage.
