International Working Groups
As part of our commitment to supporting international activity and facilitating collaboration across the University, we coordinate and lead meetings for several working groups.
Global Operations Council
Comprised of representatives from administrative operations, finance, and human resources, the Global Operations Council is a University-wide forum for information sharing and identification of potential improvements. The group meets quarterly to review Harvard’s international activities and address future needs.
GSS Advisory Board
Our advisory board reviews and evaluates the operational and administrative processes and standards for international projects at Harvard. The group—comprised of senior University and School leaders—meets quarterly to provide counsel on high-level GSS objectives and service offerings that help us best support the University’s international strategy.
International Emergency Management Team
Led by our International Safety & Security team, the IEMT is an integral part of the University’s emergency management response plan. The group is comprised of representatives from every Harvard School, certain departments or affiliated entities with significant international activity, and on-campus emergency support services. While the group at large meets several times a year for trainings and review, the IEMT Core meets weekly to review individual incidents and global events affecting the safety and security of Harvard’s travelers. Designated IEMT members can log in to the Travel Registry Manager Portal to review registered travel.
International HR Affinity Group
This group is comprised primarily of representatives from Academic Affairs and Human Resource offices across the University. The group meets as needed for members to share information and provide feedback on global human resource issues and initiatives at Harvard.
